I know the difference between signs, classifiers, and fingerspelled words, but these 3 have me stumped... what would you call them? I think they might be the retro English signs that were "accepted".... :dunno:

APT (considered fingerspelling or not?)

B-K ("Back", as in "back door", etc... B handshaping flung back while changing to a K handshape)

"BUT" (B handshape changing to a T handshape with no visible "U", almost more of a movement?? :dunno: )

So far I can only think of these three that are boggling my mind... Are they the old English signs kinda like the "breakfast" "lunch" and "dinner" ?? (with the B, L, or D on the teeth...)

They are often referred to as "fingerspelled loan signs" or just "loan signs."
