i wish people would subtitle their Vlogs. just keep in mind that a lot of hearing, hard-of-hearing, and deaf people (like myself) who have learnt enough ASL to converse but are still not fluent or completely accustomed to visual language have a hard time following people's Vlogs. our HOH friends may or may not know ASL, but what people often fail to realize is that HOH people tend to feel even more alienated than Deaf people do from both Hearing and Deaf cultures because there is little common ground. is there a HOH Culture? Hoh people have the option of watching pretty much JUST subtitled videos, unless they are fortunate enough to be able to understand non-subtitled clips with either dialogue or sign, albeit most likely with a struggle..
for instance, the CODA brothers... their clips are signed, and then they have speech for the "ASL-impaired", but that is only good for hearing people as there are no subtitles for hard of hearing people or deaf people who do not sign. i support using the widest range of communication techniques possible.
