So today, the outlaws came to visit and drop off my wifes aquarium they stored for her. Big storm was rolling in so I was trying to get everyones butt in gear before the rain set in. Just as we started unloading it from their truck it started to sprinkle, as soon as we set foot in the garage BA-BOOM !!!!!! The loudest most deafening sound ( apparently as they all couldnt hear and my wife fell into an anxiety attack ) I seen smoke and thought my jeep blew up???? What the hell was that? I felt the shock waves and it was super loud with the cochlears on, sounded like the 45 we were shooting outdoors only this time indoors with no ear protection...
Once I observed and came to my senses, less than 10 feet away from us lightning struck a medium sized tree and blew it all to hell, the inside of my jeep and my wifes car windows steamed up but no other cars did that in other driveway or on the street.... guess because they were close.... WOW ! That was a close call! I am glad no one got hurt , you all got in the garage just in time .
 
I did have a little fun after. The outlaws were freaking out as we got some hail and all and they wanted to run into the basement and hide...lol so after the storm blew over they went outside to look at the tree, they were so into observing it that they didnt notice I came out so I walked up behind them and Yelled "BOOM" at the top of my lungs and scared the heck outta them ( My wife said I was mean for that) but god it was funny to watch them jump outta their skin !
 
yikes! Some ten years ago we lost two trees here because of lightening strikes. One in the front yard and one in the side yard... The one in the side yard if it had fallen in a certain way would have landed in my bedroom window.

I slept through it.

They were both removed- we planted a baby tree where the front yard one was... Will be a long while before it gets as big though.
 
You're so bad ! LOL! You should of tried to roast some marshmallows on the tree. That remind of the time we were going to our summer camp and
dad had to drive over a RR tracks, I blew up a small paper bag and just when we were on the tracks I popped the bag ! OMG! My dad jumped and he couldn't
hit b/c he was driving.
