Hi all, it a shame you cant use a phone when you want to talk to mum as i have a textphone but my mum said she hate talking to operator so she wont use it. it hurt me when i need her
 
I am sorry ur feeling hurt. I use messenger on the computer to talk with my mom. It helps me alot.

That's hurting . Tell your mom that she must accept you for who you are . Period !

Just buy sidekick 3 or cell phone with text message. Your mom and you can talk each other on sidekick 3 or cell phone with text message. That how I talk to my mom on my cell phone with text message. I don't use relay service to call my mom anymore.
 
Yea that is such a shame and a few of my friends are in the same shoes with their families relating to talking on the phone. I am sorry that your mom is not willing to meet your deaf needs.

Follow her advice and your mom will be likely to wiling to talk u via text msg. If she really love you , she should do this way. If not, then yes it s shame that mom do not respect your need. Pity the fools.
 
How else does she expect you to call her? It is not your place to accomidate her whims- using relay instead of demanding she spend 200$ on a textphone is accomidating enough, is it not?
 
I got this computer and pager for communication, otherwise... why not try emails? it may will help both of u. I usually use email to email mom or send her text messages to her cell phone :)
 
yeah I know how it feels, I use email or text phone, my boyfriend hasnt got computer, wouldnt know what to do with it and refuses to learn to text, reckons he's too old...lol
 
I do understand how you feel about this. Same with my mom, she hate to talking to me on the phone with opeator is there in between of us. You know? We know that Opeator is just telling me and her what we say and such like that, but feel like no privacy. But right now, my mom rarely talk to me on AIM since she don't like to using the computer and she's sort of.... IDIOT on it... But right now, we start talk in Text Message or on the Video Phone together which is more better than being on the phone to having someone who nosy in our convo, you know what I speak about?

I understand how you feel about it my mom don't like it too i told her well i did not ask to be deaf what can I do it only way to call me. My mom don't got it then i did not call her about 2 weeks. and now she call me now she understand cuz she can't stand it if she don't hear anything from me
