When I was young I did believe those lies. Now, I don't believe those lies.

1. "Hearing people have easier lives because they are hearing."

Truth: Just because hearing people have hearing ability does not mean they have easier lives. If a hearing person tells you hearing people have easier lives due to their hearing ability, that is a lie. I hate this lie.

2. "Hearing people do not miss information because they are hearing."

Truth: Hearing people miss information like deaf people.

3. "Hearing people do not experience discrimination because they are hearing."

Truth: Just because hearing people have hearing ability does not mean they never experience discrimination. If a hearing person tells you they never experience discrimination because they are hearing, that is a lie.

1.) Well, to us d/Deaf and HOH, we had to put up with hearing parents and the mainstream schools to tell us what to do and get their way. They want easier life without learning ASL or have us go to Deaf school instead of mainstream school. They refused to listen to our needs. They got off easier than we do. We had to do everything for them, not for us at all.

2.) True, but we get miss out a lot more often than hearing people. If hearing people get informations, but did not let us know and find ourselves in the dark.

3.) That is because of diversity. There are different races that are being discriminated. Like me being Native American, I have been discriminated and also for my deafness, I have been discriminated because they refused to believed me when I needed accommodations and need to have d/Deaf rights and d/Deaf Native rights. White people have no problem of getting their privileges which we could not get them. Poor white people are discriminated with have or have not in trying to find jobs or trying to get privilege, too.

I don't know about lies that you think we are telling about lies. Get real.

It's like double standards.

Or maybe I am on the wrong foot trying to understand about lies. :(

I'm stuck on the last one. Hearing people may experience discrimination, but because of race, sex, weight, etc etc etc but BECAUSE they're hearing? That's silly. Unless you're talking about deaf people discriminating against them. That's true ;)

I'm not even touching the first two, I've already been in that merry go round. I've been hearing and I've been deaf. I've experienced both.....so.

Sorry, got to disagree with that one. Based on my experience - I went to mainstream during my elementary school and then went to CSDR during my junior year and skipped a grade because my education is way ahead of them and learned nothing there. Then went back to mainstream high school. It wasn't encouraged by my parents and they just wanted what's best for me - not for them.

To respond to OP's lie/truth - I don't care if they're lying or not and I would just move on and set a positive goal for myself.

This made no sense to me. Could please you tell what you mean, how can you say this is "truth" then say " Just because hearing people have hearing ability does not mean they never experience discrimination. If a hearing person tells you they never experience discrimination because they are hearing, that is a lie. " Do you think hearing people experience discrimination or not??? I am guessing you're hearing??

Guessing education hasn't changed much since the 60's....never finished the 8th grade (public school due to becoming deaf)...went to deaf school, and skipped 3 grades....

It was in early 80's. My ex-girlfriend who attended public school that has no deaf program and went to CSDR and she skipped a grade, too.
