How do you feel about having serial killers doing what they've done in the past and how does that affect you?

*shuddering* have just finished reading a post from another thread and I knew what I was going to mention was going to be off topic for sure...so decided to open this up.

Charles Manson and his 'The Family'

What are you thoughts on them? How do you percieve them? Do you truly believe that Charles Manson had a hand in the brainwashing method of the women who went on a killing spreed that one horrific night, that hot muggy Saturday night, the 9th of August 1969...when The Family decided to descend upon actress Sharon Stone, 8 months pregnant, and her guests: Abigail Fogler, heiress of Fogler's Coffee, and her boyfriend and a well known hairdresser.
Why did they pin point those specific individuals for? Did Charles Manson have some sort of grudge against them or ?

I percieve Charles Manson as an extremely unstable and prone to violent outbursts. A big danger to the community and society in general.

What do you all think about this?

Not only Charles Manson, but of 'The Zodiac' -- a stalker killer who taunted the San Francisco Police for a few years ranging from late '60's to late '70's. As far as I know that the Zodiac is still around but in hiding, biding his time, I reckon.

What do you all think about that?????? There's so many unanswered questions that we'd love to get answers!

Waterrats -- i think theyre stupid, dangerous and all that shit -- their obsession of a certain person(s) can lead to getting it out of control

Yeah...sure wish there were a simpliarl way of eridicating all the criminals and killers, etc...and not having to worry about those around us in the comunnity. *sigh*

We just have to be extra careful these days no matter what. ;) Hugs' hugs!

I do remmy another famous serial killer Henry Lee Lucas. He enjoyed murdered many womens who happen give him a ride as Hitchhikker and others. I do believe he murdered first women was his mother. Sound like he seem not have obsessive over them. Just killed them cuz of w-o-m-e-n.
Now, he died from lethal infection under Death Sentence.

Yeah, Jack the Ripper was also another serial killer... he targeted women... and was never caught!!! That's a scary thought, I feel a bit scared at the thought that there might be a serial killer... lurking.... hehe.

Yeah, and I think there were several, including the Snowtown murders (do those count as serial killings?). The Snowtown ones were particularly bad. I haven't heard of the other serial killers you mentioned WaterRats. Perhaps I should start reading the paper hehe.

KILLER FACTS

Robert Ressler

It was FBI agent Robert K. Ressler, who first coined the term "Serial Killer".

Terrible Triad

There are three common characteristics found present in most serial killers during there childhood. These are known as the terrible triad. There is no guarantee that if all three conditions are present, the child will for-certain, grow up to become a serial killer. But they are early warning signs to be aware of. The conditions are Bed-wetting, Fire-starting and Animal torture.

Bed-wetting -at least 60% of serial killers were wetting the bed past the age of 12.

Fire-starting -a large amount of serial killers have a fascination with arson, or started fires as children.

Animal torture -many serial killers, before moving to human victims, start with small, or dead animals.

The Early Years

Most studies show that potential killers became solidified in their loneliness first during the age of 8 to 12; such isolation is considered the single most important aspect of their psychological makeup.

loneliness and isolation do not always mean that the potential killers are introverted and shy; some are, but others are gregarious with other men, and are good talkers. The outward orientation of the latter masks there inner isolation.

Studies also show every-single-murderer were subjected to serious emotional or physical abuse during their childhoods.

The Snowtown murders was in a South Australian town -- the other murders by serial killers were committed mainly in the USA and some in Europe -- like that Night Stalker...? the one that was stalking people around Mt Tamapilas(spelling, oops) near Kentfield, San Rafael, Mill Valley in Northern California.

There are so many that I cannot remember...too many, but I'd rather not remember. It's too chilling and daunting to be reminded of them.

Did it happen while you were alive and growing up there? If so, were you aware of it happening and hearing the news, etc? How did you feel about it? Did your parents get nervous and the sorts?

Yes, it happened during the early 90s. I was approx 7 to 10 when it went on.

My parents were nervous since they have two daughters. One was a teenager, and one was barely 20 at the time. Teenage girls were the most potential TARGET according to some reports.

A lot of teenage girls were forced to stay home, believe me.

we should take these sick fuckers and take thier asses to hell and back and tourture them FOR what they done to others, let them experince what the victims experinced! considering like jeffery dahmer, he should be alive and slowly cut up and scream in pain knowing what HE had done to the others, ted bundy himself should also get the same treatment as well, the slices of a thousand death, those that shot and killed thier victims should get the slow death by being shot in one area and left to die not any of those *quick death via injections*

those that got away are nothing but terror and cowards!

For some odd reason I am fascinated by serial killers....probaly an outgrowth of my faccination with Abnormal Psych. I remember a few months ago there was a bit on the Ms. magazine boards on a female serial killer, Alieen Wurernos who was a truck stop prosituite and she killed males either for for robbery or b/c they raped her. Those serial killings happened when I was in second or third grade so I really don't remember hearing too much about them...I do remember when Jeffery Dahmher was discovered...virtually everyone I know who's my age always gets Dahmer and Hannibal Lecter mixed up.

Hey, did you know that Ted Bundy already died by electrocution some years ago? So, he's dead!

Anyone remember Susan Smith? Although she wasn't a serial killer, but she single handed killed her 2 sons by rolling her car into a lake with the boys strapped in the car...Alex and Joshua, I think were the name of the boys. It happened in the late '90's, I believe.

Yes, I do remmy around fall 1994 when she lied to a whole of our country about one black guy kidnaped her sons and blahh. She has low "family value" between her family and that guy she crushed. That guy doesnt want to be involved in Susan's life cuz of children. :ugh:

Even, Susan wants DEATH sentence. She is willing to accept to die for two sons. Turn out the court want her be in the prison for rest of her life as ALIVE. Glad the justice is right. Want her suffering with LIFE not DIE. Make me think she want DEATH sentence is her only choice for get rid of her life.

Heard some female prisoners drive Susan Smith more hell cuz of "Children Killer". Tuff on her!
