A few months back, I had an EEG done to check my brainwaves. The EEG came back saying that I have a seizure disorder when I never had visual symptoms. This news shocked me because I thought that all seizures come with convulsions. I started anti-seizure medication because there is a family history of seizures. The first few days after the diagnosis, I was very upset. I have come to terms with it.

There are many kinds of seizures... one of the more common ones I think is what used to be call petit mal seizures- or 'absence seizures'. Most aren't aware that they've had those- I have a friend or two who either used to have them or still do. Was interesting to see and learn about for sure.

Now, I know that there are many kind of seizures. I have absence (aka petit mal) seizures.

Yes, many types of seizures and causes of them...a lot of drug addicts and alcoholics have seizures...even people who have fell and hit their heads on a very hard object (floor)....

A friend had them, she was in recovery (drug addict) and lost all her teeth...she was lucky for not having any teeth, as she couldn't bite her tongue. The reason she was having them is some type of meds she was taking.

Caz, I understand what you are saying. In the past, I had felt dizzy/weird and blacked out. I also noticed that I have gotten very irate if I am near very loud noise/a very noisy place (such as a restaurant). When I get up/regain consciousness, I was a little confused as to happened. For example, last year when my parents and I were in Lancaster Co., PA (Amish country), I may had a possible seizure because I felt dizzy/weird and blacked out in front of Cracker Barrel. When I got up, I didn't know what happened. I can give you other examples of possible seizures. I say "possible" because I don't have an EEG reading for them.

altered state of consiousnes(no good with that spelling)not nice you black out proberly carry on as normal but you have no memory, people think being rude but you unaware.
I have abnormal low blood pressure I often feel and do faint and can show abnormal eeg..It chicken and egg thing..
If they put you on meds often you have mix and match until something that suits you..
Take no notice of people I came from generation who treated us like lepers I often had to lie about it...Things are better these days
