Scary, Very Scary

This is something I've been aware of ever since my father was diagnosed with diabetes. A few years after he was diagnosed, my mother could tell that he was having more difficulty hearing and recommended that he have his hearing tested. Naturally, he declined and insisted that he didn't have a problem. As it turned out, he never did receive HAs and pretended to feign his way through conversations just like I did for many years. For anyone reading this, if you know that your family has a history of diabetes, *please* have your hearing checked every 6-12 months (or sooner if it is progressive). I know my father could have had some happier years before his passing if he had not been so insistent about not wearing HAs.

Ya'll feigners, you're not fooling anyone. We recognize it better that the hearies do.

If you have diabetes you should have more eye exams, too.

My wife has diabeties and she has floaters in her eyes from bursted arteries. She's had'em a while and I do need to get a doctor appointment set up for her. She's already had'em drained on both eyes.
