Are you terrified of heights?

I Am not terrified of heights at all...I just do not look down..

I love heights, but I am terrified of losing my balance and falling.
It's a bit tough sometimes when I am hiking, I am so high up and I sometimes get a little tense trying to walk along the path, making sure I don't slip and fall.

No im not afraid of heights but my dad sure was!
One time my grandma (his mom) asked him to look at something on her roof and dad was like..yikes...so he got the neighborhood man to look at her roof instead (he paid him a little moola). When my son was about 5 years old, i found out that he is also afraid of heights when we got on the Ferris wheel at the carnival and it stopped at the top and he went ballistic, screamin and all trying to get out! I was fighting to keep him from trying to jump off! i screamed at the operator to let us off! my mother was standing there terrified for us......what a horrible experience! but now my son is grown and he is not afraid of heights anymore! i dont know how he got over it....strange huh?

I'm scared of heights...whenever I have to look down -- I ALWAYS have a strong GRIP onto something in order to prevent me from falling over. :D

No, I'm not afraid of heights, but any time I look down my thighs become very, very, very tight. I can keep going up, but as long as I'm not looking down. Just exactly like Cheri's. :D

I am not afraid of height. If I am in high building. I love to look down to see people and the cars moving.. See them so small. Sometimes feel like I was a King Kong to smash the people and the cars at the bottom of the building.. hehe  :laugh2:

Nahhhh I am not scared of heights... but unfortunately my fiancee is SCARED of height big time, she had to hang on to me so HARD like she try to break my arm... that how scare she is....

Nah, am not scared of heights. Except for going on the highest diving board there are. However, I don't like the senastion you'll fall if you're not careful whilst going up the mountain.

Nahhhhhhhhhhhhh, I am not afraid of height at all. Love em. Anyway, here is this funny story about my Aunt. Oh boy oh boy, back in 1983, I was at NTID and I invited my mom and aunt to stay the nite in my dorm room on the 11th floor. Everything went fine til the next morning. I was looking for my aunt and asked my mom, "where is she??" She said, "Dunno" So as we walked down the hallway and I saw my aunt hiding in the old hallway phone booth and was crying. I looked at my mom and said, "What wrong with her?" She told me she was afraid of height. I am like OH MY GOODNESS!!! I didnt know she was afraid of height all my life til that time. Geez. I had to laughed. But anyway, few years later, She was going to Alaska with her son. I asked my mom, "how are they going to get there?" She said Flying. HUMMMMMMMMMM I went and said "I thought she is afraid of height" Yep yep but love flying. Whack my head boy I sure have a crazy aunt. LOL

Reminds me of myself, although I hate the idea of falling and losing balance, I love flying and I even love it when there are strong turbulences. Most ppl hate turbulence but I love it!

To illustrate my point about hiking, heights and falling:
Go to these links to see pictures of Angel's Landing, in Zion National Park.
It was scary there, path only being 2 to 3 feet wide, and cliff drop off of 1700 feet on both sides:

Trail to Angel's Landing, involving scrambling: http://protophoto.com/picture.html?pic=5390

Zion as seen from Angel's Landing: http://protophoto.com/picture.html?pic=5380

These two pictures doesnt really do justice on how scary it can be.
