Sacramento...cab drivers must learn English...

It might be a hot topic on language issue, but dress attire for a cabbie? I wouldn't care how they dressed as long they're not naked

Is This going to affect deaf cabbies?

If the deaf cabbie can read and write in English, they should be waived.

The article says they will be expected to learn basic english skills, geogrpahy, basic math, wear slacks, shirt with collar and closed toe shoes. There is a multi million dollar arena being built down town Sacramento which is bringing in a ton of new businesses.

Dress attire... :laugh2: Yeah, as long as they're not naked and are showered... I'm happy... I mean, I have never been in a cab and am terrified of them... :ugh: ( I've seen Florida cab drivers... NO THANKS! ) ( Services, BATS TAXI or YELLOW CAB :laugh2: You'd understand if you lived in Tampa, believe me! :ugh: ) Anyway, I don't ever take taxis, never have, but as long as they were showered, clean and not naked... well and not in spandex... that would be a little uncalled for... :ugh: or shirtless... no shirtless man taxi drivers... :ugh: Okay, basic attire requirements aren't SO bad... :ugh:

what about shirtless women?

I couldn't care less what kind of clothes my cabbie wears, just as long as he gets me to the right place...I understand wanting the cabbies to the basic language of the place they are living in...I wouldn't go to Germany and expect them to hire me to drive people around the villages because I don't speak German (unless they wanted me to count to 12)
