LONDON - Multi-million-selling author J.K. Rowling said on Saturday she was expecting her third child but promised worldwide “Harry Potter” fans the pregnancy would not delay her writing a sixth book about the boy wizard.

“I am really delighted to say that I am expecting a third baby, who is due next year,” she said on her Web site.

“I always wanted three children so I could not be happier.”

Rowling’s five Harry Potter books have sold more than 250 million copies worldwide, and fans young and old are waiting for the next in the series titled “Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.”

“Now, I know that many Harry Potter fans’ first reaction will be what does this mean for the timing of book six?” she said.

“Book six remains well on track and, fingers crossed of course, I don’t foresee any baby-related delays or interruptions.”

She said there was no date for the book’s completion but added she “had written a lot and I really like it.”

Rowling, 38, already has a daughter, Jessica, from her first marriage, and last year had a son, David, with her second husband Neil Murray.

Hmm... this is interesting. I wonder if there's gonna be any teenage pregnancies in the remaining books?

Lol. I'm glad to hear that it won't delay the arrival of the 6th book which I'm eagerly anticipating. Can anyone tell me whether the Goblet of Fire (4th book made into a movie) is going to be a whole movie or just 2 movies because the book is really long... I can't imagine them putting it all into one big movie, because little kids wouldn't be able to sit through it all.

"Goblet of Fire" is going to be a single movie due out in November '05. I heard that they have drastically edited the film to fit it into time requirements. For instance, I've heard that they have decided that the Dursleys will NOT be apart of this movie. I'm not sure how they plan to work this out, and still remain true to the book. But, they seem to have done well with remaining true to the other three books, so we shall see what happens with this one. Also, of interest, I ALSO heard that yet another director is tackling "Goblet". I'm quite nervous about this "revolving door" of directors, because, I don't want anyone taking creative license with the movies, and basically screwing things up! LOL I really like how they have remained true to the the books so far, and I want to see that continue.

I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of "Goblet of Fire", and also, the sixth book, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince". :)

I also am anticipating the arrival of both the 4th movie and 6th book as well. ;) Can hardly wait! I've yet seen the 3rd movie, 'Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban..will do once it's been released onto DVD. :D
