I know car dealers are one of most rip off loving salesmen on planet Earth. They're cons!

I've been wondering why you cannot return a car that you bought from a dealer while you can return TVs, computers, anything back to the store if you're not sastified with it. I don't know why dealers have to hassle around with people just to sell a car. If the car sucks, why bother selling it? Just recycle it, damn stupid people! They jack up the price and let people suffer with something you're not sastified with or paying too much for it. How would they feel if they treated back the same way?

I'm truly fustrated with my car payments and everything and I'm stuck to it and I have filed a complaint to BBB for selling the car for more than what it is worth. (I bought the car on May 2006) I know I made a stupid mistake but I gotta watch out next time. Refinancing is sooooo stupid because most people do not have few thousand of dollars out of pocket to pay the difference. Why can't they just lower the interest rate and extend the payment span? There are so many stupid stuff that banks offer that are not neccessary for the general public, why waste offering that?

Sorry, I just wanted to vent out....just soo many knock offs in this world. They jack up house prices, rents, everything and we suffer and people end up homeless or be labeled with stupid credit history, I HATE that stuff! in the 1800's, there is NO credit history!

Seq, Sorry to hear that you going through this mess. Hopefully you will find a way to resolve with them. About the credit history, I guess that the banks and governments have a reason to use that because too many people have not keep up with the payments and delinquencies. The lower the credit ratings the harder the people to get a loan from the bank. They don't want to loan to those people who do not pay back. I still pay little by little each month til I am able to pay it off, so far I have no problem with credit. I rarely use credit card only for renting car, hotel that does not take debit cards. I'd stay away from MasterCard because their interest is very expensive. Btw you mentioned in 1800 there was no credit history, there was not that much technology back then and most time they pay by cash or check. There was no ATM's (first ATM is in 1960's) at that time so that's why there was no credit. The first credit card was used in the 1920's.

Have you checked with the Carfax report before you purchased the car? I know all the major car dealers (Ford, Chevy, Dodge, etc) probably the most rip off in many case. Once you buy a brand new car, and you get to drive off their lot, the car value will start to go down by the minute. I highly doubt that dealers (major or independent) will take back the car that you just bought. Once a person made a deal with dealer, that's FINAL which means no refund or exchanges. So therefore the only choice the person would do in this situation is do their best to sell the car themselves to try to get some money back if not full amount that they paid.

You could file to the BBB if they do not handle the business properly and bad treatments to their customers. It's unlikely they will help you with the car issues but the only thing BBB would do is investigate how they run their business.

My best luck to you in trying to resolve this issues.

Like, once you drive off their car lot, you lose $3,000 in value of the car's worth :(

I totally AGREED with you!! I hate when they jacked up the prices on rent, houses, food, GAS, etc etc...it make harder on the budget that you already set for a month. And have to re-do the budget again! I hate it!

I am sorry about your frustration with the car payment. :( Now you learn the mistake and will not do that again on next time when you buy another car in future. :) I learned mine too. So now I will bring my hubby with me if we need a new car but more likely we go together for next one when we going to trade in my Jeep, probably in few years..

Jake..yes you are right...once you leave the lot with brand new car, loose 3k! that's sucks! BUT I am not sure about on the used car. Ummm I can ask my hubby about that.

One thing I really hate is PAYMENTS!! It kinda kill us and make us stuck stay home and can't go to movies or travel some more or out to dinner often, or some fun to do....oh well!

Well, it's not an american car. I'm just pissed off because I paid more than what it's worth. It's a 2000 Honda Civic EX, at least it's a very reliable car.

That's a Japanese car, isn't it?

Yes, it is a japanese car basically. Most of the Hondas are made in the US and Canada for the market here. The engine and transmission usually is made in Japan and shipped to the US to the final assembly.

Niiiiiiiice

A couple of quick questions.... did you buy the car new or used??? Did you sign a No Warranty contract?

Hmm I thought Carfax can check any cars by the VIN number? :dunno:

How many miles are on the Honda?

Car Fax is a good site to check out used cars. I found my Jeep was only one owner by a US marine. I bought it and it a darn good vehicle. Had it for a year and a half now with no problems just had to replace the water pump once and that is it.

Well I bought it for around $2,000 more than what it was worth. It currently has 67,000 miles on it. It had about 39,900 miles on it on May 2006. It still runs great, just had to replace battery because it went bad (lifespan has ended on it)

I had it checked via carfax before I got the car, it had clean record. Carfax isn't always accurate because not everything is reported on it.

Ahh ok that's not bad.. I'm sure there there's a lesson to be learned... you could follow the Blue Book auto value.

Kelley Blue Book values | Used Cars for Sale | Sell My Car - Official Kelley Blue Book Site

This guide should help understand what value the car is worth before people buy.

Sorry to hear that you got ripped off. It happens so some people and sharing experience helps wake up call before it does not happen to someone else :)

Yeah, it happens....I will not buy any car with their in house financing at the dealership anymore, sometimes their rates are not reasonable enough. Next time, I will buy a car with my own choice of bank I want to loan from and buy it at a fair price.

I know honda civics are good cars, and when you buy it from buy here pay here place they charge interest..but it is how they make money. Just like if you would buy it from the bank... they charge interest. It always ends up being more than what the car is worth. Bank or Car lot. same deal.

Right I would do the same thing if I'm in your shoes :)

I'm saying "buying at a fair price" meaning negoiate with the dealer, not the bank. :P I've seen rates from my own choice of bank can be lower interest rates, etc than what they offer with their own financing.

Credit unions generally have lower interest rates on average.
