A quick look at what’s going with the big restaurant chains, courtesy of Nation’s Restaurant News:
Taco Bell is going to offer alcohol at its new Chicago location. Planned to open this summer in the Wicker Park neighborhood, the restaurant will offer beer, wine and Twisted Freezes made with rum, tequila and vodka to go along with its crunchy tacos and Cheesy Bean and Rice Burritos.
Cracker Barrel Old Country Store is going to open what it’s calling a “fusion prototype” in two weeks in Morganton, N.C. It also plans a fast-casual concept to start opening next year.
Wendy’s plans 1,000 new restaurants by the end of 2020. Most of those will be franchises. The company is actually in the process of selling hundreds of company-owned locations to franchisees.
