Hi, I am a family medicine physician and I have a deaf patient who is pregnant and will be delivering a child in a few weeks. I am currently looking into resources for her. Do any of you have any suggestions on where to start? Thanks for the help!
To help you, you do understand that the Hippocratic Oath is important, aye?
Like everyone says, what resources are you looking into & talking about?
In the USA, by law, doctors have to accommodate their deaf patients by providing interpreters for appointments. Have you considered discussing this with your patient ahead of time?
Maybe you would like to discuss this advance for the birth so there wouldn't be any added stress?
