Mods: I am not sure which category is right for this thread, u may move other category, thanks! :)

Anyone did use rent a center before? If so, how it work? How much cost? I did try research their internet and I dont see any pricing plan...

I called them "Ripoff-A-Center!

Here is the truth, they charge you 2-4 times more than what the products actually worth!

The reason behind for this business is that they cater "High risk" customer whose have lousy credit, and they don't do credit check. The catch is that if you fail to pay on time, you lose it all. That is how they make money!

I would STAY AWAY from these so call rental centers. I have a friend who refused to admit that he rented his computer from the rental center. He paid around $2,000 dollars over time on a desktop computer, and I paid 1/4 of that for my desktop computer which is little better than his! Whats even worse is that he probably won't have any idea if he is buying brand new or used desktop computer!

Finally wanted warn you, that these "advertising" price is based on weekly not month. Often they will say hey its 29.95 then lower the size on "per week". They do that in hope to make customer think it is month, where it really means each week. I hate these slicky advertising.

Finally, to answer your question. NO! I never shop there! Only browse and walk away.

I went there few weeks ago to see if I could rent their desktop. They said okay and gave me the paper work to fill out then they said "oh you have to deposit 600 dollars for security." I was like uh umm okay forget it then walked out. 600 dollars!!!!!!!!! I dont have 600 dollars for security deposit.. I only need the monitor a day! geez!! Its stupid!!

Damn, I guess I will have to try find other rental center, not RAC

Hmm, how abt buy new TV and watch one of WWE's biggest PPV event then return store, will they accept it better than rental center?

I remember one time I was curious how much to rent to purchase the PS2, they quoted $350 including interest. I walked away, LOL. I would never go there ever again, they're the biggest rip offs on the face of Earth.

I dont trust any of the rental center at all. I have seen a nice one and I have seen the used one that is in bad shape.

Yea stay away from them. They re only good if you can't wait and must own something right away.

If you want to be smart with money. just be patient and save up utnil u have enough to purchase stuffs. High interest isn't worth it and u will over pay for stuffs guaranteed.
