Smithtr, I tend to agree with Jag. I have a couple of questions for you. How long have you been implanted?
Have you been hit in the head recently?
Have you been ill lately, any fever or anyhting like that?
If you have recently been implanted, it could be that it takes some getting used to. I have heard that getting used to the activated CI can take a very long time. Several peopl ehave told me that they hated wearing it for the first several months.
Have you hit your head recently. This is just a personal thought here, but as jag said, it may have moved. It is possible that the array may have come out of your cochlea. if that is the case, that could possibly explain why you have the horrible headaches, pain and dizziness. If the array becomes dislodged, it could be sending a tiny electrical "shock" (duo to a lack of a better term at the moment) This could be why you are in so much pain.
If you have been sick lately or had a fever, thiese could be symptoms of some type of infection. This too could explain why you are in pain. Think about it. When you have a cut on your finger that gets infected, it gets VERY tender, and kind of nasty. There could be swelling due to infection that is putting pressure on the implant causing pain.
There are many, many reasons why you are feeling as bad as you are. As said above, find a way to clearly communicate with your doctor exactly what is going on and what you feel. You may have a problem that could easily be fixed. Either way, good luck!
