Can someone inform me why it is perfectly okay for people to talk about what positions they like in bed or the size of their penis on this forum, but not about religion? There were people having a civilized debate on here and it got locked, can someone please tell me why this alldeafs policy? I do not find it to be helpful or tolerant. I can understand that you are trying to avoid problems, but it seems that by doing this you are just stifling them. Would alldeaf consider ever changing that policy in the future? Religion is a part of everyday life just as much as any other topic on this forum. People may get offended by what other people say, but isn't that true with any other topic you might disagree on? Please, I urge you to allow religious conversations and debates on this forum. I don't think it is right to lock them.
The forum rules say

"AllDeaf.com Rules

The conversation that was going on were not vulgar, obscene, threatening. We were having a debate. Simple as that. Someone (preferably a moderator) please inform me of why alldeaf has this policy.

Religious debates became much more heated than most other topics. Mods got tired of playing referee. I agree with you though; I would like to see the option return. I have plenty to learn in the religious arena, and it would be a good thing to share viewpoints.

I moderate another site, and the same rules apply there. I am just the traffic cop, enforcing the policy. It does not reflect my personal views.

Maybe someone should set up their own website and rules. Which that won't be a problem.

that is why rule policy! Alldeaf respect to follow reading rule! I can't doing, I respect to owner alldeaf decide, I cannot doing help!, alldeaf is very strictest!

but Alldeaf Forbidden not allow religion on rule!!

If Alldeaf forbidden religious people then they should ban us when they get a chance.

We all know the soloution is for everyone to convert to Jedi-ism.. I mean who can not believe in the all powerful force??? Kevin Smith proved it in "Mallrats"! SERIOUSLY!

lol.

Because discussion of sexual matters don't create viciousness.

Gotcha, It would be fun if they allowed them...and educational!

One should not look to an internet forum for religious instruction.

BTW, there was very little instruction involved in prior religious discussion. It mostly presented an opportunity for people to be judgemental.

It's a good thing that the Westboro church doesn't read this site. :P

No doubt!:laugh2:

But when the religious forum was open, I saw several comments that could have easily come from the Westboro Church, given the judgemental nature.

Do a google search on "Non-Denominational Christian Discussion Forums" and you will get about a gazillion hits.

Or just google "religious discussion forums" and you will get 10 gazillion hits.

I don't recall seeing anything close to what the Westboro bunch spouts out.

From what I gather the Westboro church is abhorred by the Southern Baptist Convention over the use of 'Baptist' in it's name. WBC has no affiliation to the Southern Baptist Convention and they do not share the same beliefs and doctrines. The WBC is mainly a church of inbred family members due to incest running rampant within their so-called church.

Also the WBC has a very warped view on the war and how homosexuality has somehow directly contributed to it. It's bad enough even the KKK has protested against the WBC.

I don't believe any Baptist conventions, associations, or unions want any connection to Westboro. Our independent Baptist church definitely doesn't want anything to do with them, that's for sure.

Correct on that! I am surprised they haven't been sued for 'copyright infringement' by some sort of Baptist group just to get them to drop 'Baptist' from their name so as to not be confused for another church or thought to have affiliation with any Baptist group. The SBC is large enough to do it I am sure, but they sure would look silly in court over the use of the term 'Baptist'.

BTW - what makes a Baptist a Baptist? (I read an interesting article on this that posed this very question.)
