Relay Service for the AIM users

I have looked all over the forums to see if there was any mention of using a Relay Service through AIM. I have not tried it yet as I have sent in my registration a couple hours ago. A friend in New York informed me of this:

You need to add a new buddy to your list: Mobile TTY and check the homepage to register at http://www.lormarlogic.com/register.htm but if you don't have any email listed on that homepage, then you will need to send your AIM screenname and your email address to CustomerService@LormarLogic.com ../

Does anyone use this?? If you have, how was it?? Smooth?? Awkward?? Please leave your input here!

Thanks!

I wasn't even aware of the feature until you mentioned it here. Sure am interested to know how well it'll function --....

Used on the computer it works pretty well. It takes some getting used to, but it's neat because you can multi-task. I've also used it on my sidekick, and that's a bit trickier because the sidekick tends to lose connection and re-establish connection quite frequently so the conversation often lags. I'll take what I can get though.

Yes I have heard about this at my work. I think its real reason is for Sidekick users who have AIM on their Sidekicks to be able to call relay. What if someone's car broke down in the highway, simple, just use Mobile TTY to call Relay and so on.

My friend showed me his sidekick last night. He talked with his father on AIM via Relay Service. Awesome Technology !!

Heh, that's allright heh..

I tried it on a friend's sidekick calling my mom, it was smooth.. didn't wait long, i got her answering machine..

I think it is good to use on aim on sidekick cuz I rarely use tty to tty since mostly communicate to other deafies on aim, so i like using mobiletty for relay calls to anyone who I can call that is hearing, not deaf..

wow!!! i will get sidekick when i move in HI then i will get one.. smiel.. :-o

Wow, it is very new to me. Thanks for posting the information, Deaf258 :thumb:

.....

i did downloaded the relay into my sidekick, it works really good but only one problem is that, no one can call me but i have found a way to know if someone is wanting to talk to me or calll me, i have them call my cell, and hang up when they hears one ring so i know that it was them, then i would call back and it was really no plm.
