Thought I'd throw this out in case anyone is in the market for a decent tow bar at a good price. Put a class III hitch on my truck today and looked for awhile on Amazon and found a Reese with a 6,000 pound capacity and 2"drop for $15.81 not even Walmart can beat that price.

I have very similar thing. or maybe it's the same one. I bought it from amazon. works very well for me.

HarborFreight has it for a dollar less than Amazon. Thank God I got two Harbor Freight stores near here.

Amazon charges tax in Florida now.... because they're building a center here close by... I don't mind though, because it will provide a butt load of jobs here locally. :)

Tax? Perhaps a dollar anyway.

Here in NY if you order anything online, it is TAXABLE too! What's difference is it going to make?

you? tax?

Meh, as I said, if it helps provide tons of jobs to people who don't have any, I'm glad to pay a little tax to help. They say an average of 1000 - 1500 jobs when it's done being built. :)

your tax doesn't help them get a job. your tax goes to their food stamp or whatnot. its expansion is from profits collected from customers like us by ordering stuff thru it instead of Harbor Freight

so amazon is building a center in Florida.... they must have gotten an offer they could not resist from Florida government like tax-free for x-numbers of years. good to hear that unemployment rate will go down a bit soon. I hope northern Miami will get cleaned up. that is a really nasty scary neighborhood :Ohno:

They charge me tax when I order now too but haven't heard anything about them building a center in NC. Last time I ordered it came out of Kentucky I think it was.

:laugh2: The center will be closer to me here in Tampa... Lakeland, I believe?

Miami is terrible in general... :ugh:

Just checked they charged me $3.39 tax on a $50.26 order today. Amazon is getting bad for mistakes I ordered 3 packs of the tail light bulbs last month and they only sent 2. Then on another order what was suppose to be a pack of 10 mini bulbs I only got 1 bulb and they shipped that 1 bulb separate from the rest of the order by UPS. 1 light bulb in a ziplock baggie in a 8" square box.

:laugh2: That's pretty terrible.... Maybe they really need this center to double check for mistakes? :P

huh? I don't follow. I've ordered thousands of stuff from amazon. rarely do I pay tax for it. rarely do I have a problem with my orders.

you sure it's from amazon and not third-party?

When I need something - I check online, then ebay and local prices. 9 times out of 10 its cheaper on ebay. Even car parts on ebay is cheaper then rockauto and r1 concepts.

Yep I'm sure its Amazon I did some digging and found an article on it started February 1st in NC. They'll be charging more states in the future. South Carolina starting in 2016.

This one says Amazon is "considering" investing in NC but won't say how or when.

That's how I do it check Amazon and Ebay then compare it to local places like Walmart, AutoZone, Oreillys, Advance and Tractor Supply. I got this hitch on Ebay for $105 with free shipping it retails for $279.19. Don't know how but it was shipped to me direct from Curt Manufacturing not the Ebay seller.

Got emails from Amazon saying my order had shipped but they split it again ... half shipped from South Bend, Indiana and the other half from Acworth, Georgia
