I am going to ask the mods if they can sticky this - I want this thread to be a place of reference when someone is looking for books, websites, and other materials to learn and master sign language instead of having new people ask again and again where they can learn ASL. Myself and others can make suggestions and post them here in this thread. I think this will be an asset to the Sign Language Forum.
Here are the sites I am using now to learn basic signs--
ASL American Sign Language - ASL University, ASL 3 & 4 courses currently under construction, Dr. Bill Vicars provides these ASL lessons for free via internet.
ASL Browser - ASL Browser provided by the staff at Michigan State University. Signs and lessons provided free via internet
American Sign Language (ASL) Dictionary of Religious Words ASL Dictionary of Religious words. Words and some phrases provided free by the Deaf Ministry of Valley Bible Church.
I would list ASL Web, but my comp is so outdated that I cannot use it so therefore I cannot comment on it. Perhaps someone else can.
