How do you know if radio stations are good or bad for kids to listen to music ??

Any ideas or tips ?? Some kids like to listen to music on radio station on the radio...

How would I know? I'm deaf. You remind me of my ex boyfriend who put a song on the radio, and asked me to turn the radio on, I said for what? He said I got a surprise for you. I'm like oh ok, I turned it on, Didn't hear anything expect noises such as a song is playing but couldn't rule out what the name of the song and the point of listening to the radio. He says, I put a song in for you for sweetest day. I said to myself, Hello? Anyone home in my ex boyfriend's head? Did he forget that I'm deaf meaning, I can't hear shit! :laugh2:

LOL Cheri!!!!!

Its a tough question.. my daughter loves to listen to the radio and I never know what's on or who's singing.. sometimes I'll ask my kid what she's listening to.. if you know your local radio stations.. you'll know whether its country, hip-hop, rap, weather, etc. I always look at the radio station number in my car and know what station it is. There's not much you can do except ask someone to help you with the station numbers and what they are.

I can understand what ONG is implying here and wondering about. It's easy to see what rating a certain song or CD carries when one purchases it at a store...but when it comes to hearing over the radio and not being able to hear whether such music is something you would want your children to listen to or not--for that, my suggestion is to confide with a hearing respondsible adult who is quite familiar with the radio stations covering your area, or even googling each radio station and find out what sort of music they produce, first getting a list of radio stations in your area and then checking out each one. Good luck! ;)

You can also check out radio stations by their websites.

I'm aware of that, and that is what I stated, when purchasing such music/cd's, the ones that carries certain 'warnings' due to the content of the music--even though, perhaps I didn't fully elaborate well enough to point that out.

Thanks anyways-- ;)

Hey RoadRunner, I'll find a website I'm trying to remember because I did found website few years ago with all the listing of stations and what kind music each station.

music

A lot depends on the age of your kids. Check with some hearing friends what are the best radio stations for kids your age. A bit off the topic but a couple of things to be careful of. Some kids have the radio up far too loud, so that it may disturb neighbours. Check where the vol is at, maybe feel how strong the vibrations are. The other one I know kids do often is change the ring on their parents mobile phone. So it is very loud or plays music that is nothing like you as a person would choose. Good Luck
