I think one piece of advice we could all benefit from is to not let a debate on whatever topic turn into personal attacks. While we may disagree in our points of view and the way we see things, and while we may discuss issues that are sensitive for some, it only spreads more harm if we let the discussion disintegrate into accusing people. The difference between a constructive debate and a useless debate is that in a constructive one, all participants still have an underlying respect for each other, even when they disagree. If we can keep a underlying thread of respect going, I think our debates will turn out to be much more productive, and allow some of us to really question ourselves.
