I have questions for CI users, that got experience after surgery is done.

Did you started vomit after wake up?

Did you had experience with burning urine? It does happen with catheter.

Did you had bad headache after surgery?

Yea, I got bad experience after CI surgery is done, started vomit and burning urine, and headache isn't bad but it seems hassle to me and some people can be make different experience with side effect after CI surgery.

Yes, I puked blood and also had a nosebleed as well. They assured me that this is normal after such a surgery and they gave me plenty of meds for my nausea.

I know I did have a catheter in because when I went to the bathroom sometime after I woke up I saw I was bleeding from there, but I had no burning at all when I peed. No pain at all. I've had a catheter in me in the past so I am kind of used to it.

Oh, my whole damn head HURT!!! But they gave me plenty of morphine and after about 2 hours the pain localized to just my left ear/left neck area and was so much more manageable.

I had zero side effects from my surgery aside from sleepyness / a bit of dizziness, and a slight headache that was gone the next day.

Yes I had vomiting. It was blood abt for 2 hrs then stop vomiting.

I did not have catheter.

No headache. Just alittle pain but was drowness and dizziness.

I vomited once & it was black(blood) also had nosebleeds.Surgeon said it came from the middle ear & it had to come out some-how so out it came through my nose.Gave my hubby & I a fright cause we weren't expecting that.I felt very dizzy but pain wasn't too bad(manageable) Found it was the sorest 6 days after the op.Weird I know!

No vomitting but I felt very nauseated for about 2 hours. The nurse gave me a pill to deal with the nausea.

No. In fact until I read your words I had completely forgotten that I had a catheter and in fact I am unsure if I had one at all although I'm sure I must have as they would not have wanted an accident in surgery

Did you had bad headache after surgery?

More a bad earrache and the nausea. Oh and mild dizziness until activation which was 3 weeks after and this cleared up immediately. I chose not to drive until then.

No there's no burning urine.. and i don't think there's any problem with my urine it seems like its a normal pee thingy.

i don't have any headache.. however i had earache, alot of sleepy drowniess maybe its because i took morphine so i don't feel alot of pain. they accually gave me before it happens.. however i request more later during the day in my fear to experience pain..

I was quite nausous afterwards and I probably had one or two bouts of wanting to heave to. Normally, surgery doesn't bother too much but I guess the duration and my age "sort of" conspired against me.

Nope. I didn't get the catheter either. I can understand needing one for longer surgeries but not short ones.

Nope. I didn't have any headache but due to my nausous feelings I was a little lightheaded and dizzy.

No, I had no problems with nausea which surprised me since I tend to have a weak stomach. My biggest "complaint" was feeling extremely tired. I also had some mild dizziness which disappeared several days later.

No. No catheter either.

Did you had bad headache after surgery?

Yes. After my first and second CI, I woke up with a migraine, but since I have a history of migraine attacks, it was not at all surprising. (The first time I think my migraine was also caused by the bandage being too tight. After my second surgery, I was given a band with a plastic ear cup which was *much* more comfortable.) The Vicodin I was given helped to keep the pain under control and by the 3rd day following surgery (both times), I found that I no longer needed any pain meds and felt like myself again.

Upon reflection I don't think I had the catheter at all. I was told not to eat or drink anything for 12 hours before the surgery so that was probably why it wasn't needed.
