I'm trying to find the best way to get a video phone and which equipment to use.

I cannot have the "advanced" equipment that hooks up to the modem because it is too far from where I am at (have to have a LOONNNG cable cord past a few rooms).

If my understanding is correct that you can have a web cam and software (the relay service/company offers). Is this for real? If so, what would you recommend?

I would appreicate any information you can provide.

If u don't want a long cable cord that goes to another I suggestion u use a wireless internet connection and a webcam and get the software from Viable.net - Download Viable Vision and u can use VRS on PC without a VP but u will need a Ip address from some of ur friends if u want to connect them through VP. And as for VP, VP-200 from SorensonVRS u will still need that cable cord no matter how far or close it need the cable cord, buying cable cord from the store is rather expensive. Well a new type of video phone is coming out from Viable, it's called Vpad, it's not free and another from HOVRS's MVP which is free for loyal deaf customer only...Hope it helps
