I think she is wondering about when the d/Deaf jumped on the cell phone bandwagon. Whether it was very early on when only basic messages could be sent or when phones became like they are today. I will say that I had the early Motorola T900; this would have been about 1999-2000-2001, give or take. It was right after that that the Sidekicks came out and they were all the rage for us. I don't know how many of us had the very early texting (via Motorola or similar) because the only person I ever texted then was my husband. I didn't have anyone else to text because nobody else I knew was using them yet. (He and I had such different work schedules then that we almost never saw each other, so this early form of texting was handy for keeping us connected.)
