Hello All,

My name is Nikki and I am an interpreting student.  I'm in the process of writing a research paper about technology and the Deaf community.  Part of my paper will discuss the use of pagers.  I've found quite a bit of information already.  However, I am curious to know if the the Deaf community started using pagers when they were first available and only capable of sending numeric messages, or if they weren't really useful until text messages were able to be sent.  I'd really appreciate anyone sharing their experience with early pagers.
