Jason Harcrow encountered a special and unexpected package on his delivery route.
According to USA Today, the UPS driver was working in northern California when he saw a car ahead of him stop and drop a Cairn terrier puppy in the middle of the street.
Acting fast, Harcrow stopped his truck and scooped up the dog before it was hit by oncoming traffic. The UPS driver tried to take down the license plate of the car who dumped the pup, but was unable to get it.
Harcrow halted his deliveries to drive the male puppy to safety, bringing him to Hughson Police Services, where he also told officers about the cruel incident he witnessed.
The pup was taken to a veterinarian for examination and was given a clean bill of health. The John Doe dog was found with no identification tag or microchip, so officials are unsure if the puppy had a home before this.
