Hell, Id rather keep my fat PS3 except it needs a new bluray laser. The reason is that it's one of the original 60GB models with the PS2 chips inside it. I aint giving that baby up considering I can play PS2 games on it.
and I paid $700 for that baby way back in 2007. (That was including trading in my 2nd xbox360 after its DVD drive failed ugh)
If I can get my PS3's bluray laser replaced for cheap than the slim PS3 price, I'll be a happy camper.
However I'm still happy as clam playing games on my Gateway FX PC gamer laptop with a xbox360 controller so the PS3 will have to wait until I cant find good enough PC games for the FX.

Sony is already working on the software emulation that would allow most PS2 games to work properly on the current PS3 models than the older PS3 models in the future so expect that to come soon.
I don't think so.
Sony: PS2 back compat not returning to PS3 (ever)
Yeah, just buy a PS2 he wants to play PS2 games so bad. :P They're really cheap now.

You can always try the PC PS2 emulator if you are desperate to play PS2 games?
Ha. PS2 emulators isnt perfect yet. They required high power computer to run them. I tried one on my computer but not perfect as my Slim PS2. It have troubles with some games I like to play like missing graphic renders in FlatOut and running very slow with Robot Alchemic Drive.
P.S. Like PSOne emulators, PS2 emulators also required BIOs from PS2 models to run games too.
Will Slimmer PS3 save Sony from sale failures? No.

erm, it may ruin your warranty if you do that, obviously.
I really don't mind to buy PS3 slim. but i rather stick to xbox360, because I have some games for X360..
