I feel the protesters are wrong having a die in where young kids will be , this protesting is really going on way too long.
You don't have kids.OMG, you are really over-concerning about kids.
Don't want kids to see them? Simply stay at home or go to other area instead of whining at our face.
I don't care about die-in protest and they are HARDLY concerning!!!
You don't have kids.
I babysit kids before and it wasn't hard job, anyway.
I believe that protesters are exercising their First Amendment to demonstration in peaceful matter, not violent, even if I think their protests are retard or stupid.
It is not a hard job to distract kids away from demonstration or find other way to around, or move to suburb that is more kid friendly.
I don't understand that poster is getting a big deal with peaceful protest that is easier to avoid.
First Night is supposed to be a fun way for kids to celebrate New Year's Eve. Let the protesters do their die in at adult functions.
When kids asked their parents why are people lying in the middle of streets do think the parents should tell theirs kids why the people are there ? Would you want to try and tell a 5 yo this ??? I guess you would think nothing of telling the kids about the shootings. And you're the one that is whining !

Babysitting someone else's kids and raising your own children for 18 years are not the same thing. Not even close.I babysit kids before and it wasn't hard job, anyway.
How do you "distract" kids when protestors block the road or entrance to the ceremonies?I believe that protesters are exercising their First Amendment to demonstration in peaceful matter, not violent, even if I think their protests are retard or stupid.

I don't think you understand what First Night celebrations are. They're usually city-sponsored outdoor New Year's Eve celebrations that are family-oriented. They are a safe, family-friendly alternative to drinking parties. Sure, the families could "avoid" the protesters by staying home and missing the once-a-year celebration but how is that fair?I don't understand that poster is getting a big deal with peaceful protest that is easier to avoid.
You're not in Boston...we have enough hassles with our commute than dealing with a bunch of idiots during the holidays. At this point, they should just start arresting these no job protesters - they're way beyond their fifteen minutes of fame....

What environment? First Night celebrations are open to the public, who come from a variety of environments. No one anticipated protests at First Night prior to conceiving their children. :roll:You are whining in various threads.
You have to consider about environment, prior to having a kid.
That is exactly why they shouldn't be doing a die-in at a family-oriented activity.I don't believe that 5 years old need to know about stupid protest and you have to focus on kids, not protesters.
The protesters are more predominantly in urban area and they are great for single life, but no good for families.

"Dealing" with kids is NOT the same as being responsible for 18 years of raising your own. I'm really surprised that you're using that for an argument.Tell me that "I don't have a kid" is poor argument and I'm familiar about dealing with kids.
Sigh . . . You still don't understand. For most First Night celebrations there aren't any alternative roads. The protestors are interrupting the ceremony itself. People take their families to where the First Night celebrations are held, which are normally downtown, in the communities where they live. Why should they have to miss out on a special once-a-year celebration just because the protesters want to spoil their enjoyment? These celebrations are planned months ahead of time, at great expense and effort. Why should protesters be allowed to ruin them?Take alternative roads (It is handy if you have GPS equipped and bypass the road that where protesters block the road). Why would you take kids to urban area if you know about possible incidents? There are family-orientated events in suburb and small towns.
Protesting is legal. Blocking roads is not legal.Feel free to make a complaint to mayor about protesters are unfriendly to families and they could let police department to deal with it. Mayors don't want to lose the populations or visitors to make money.
Block the road without consent from police department is illegal and we have other events, especially LGBT Pride that block the road.
Believe it or not, some urban areas are desirable places to live. Charleston is one of them. Lots of people enjoy living in areas where everything is in walking distance, and there are lots of cultural activities available. Also, there are some people who don't have the option of living in suburbs.Environment? Who would want to live in urban area when you have a kid….
