Alex,

My concern about copyright of the pictures.

Okay, If I put a picture of myself in the picture, look like AD member will copy my picture and paste it into her/his file without my permission. That's what I wonder. I think picture should be protect like cannot copy. I was testing to see if I copy picture from my avatar then I see that avatar pic doesn't have a protection itself, so people can copy picture of you or your favorite banner even your avatar too. I'd rather someone not to copy my picture and send it to someone else or stranger.

That's my concern, not only me also that concern to some AD member who doesn't want to put her or his picture because of copy or steal.

I noticed few AD member says that, "Do not steal my banner" and "Do not copy without my permission".

Alex, I'm suggesting you to work on protection of the pictures, so any AD member cannot copy or steal from another AD member's picture or banner.

Thank you,

simple solution to your problem - don't post pix online at all. what you're asking for is an impossible task. Let me put it this way for you to understand - it's like saying Victoria Secret Store should put on a warning sign on their window display - "For children under 18 years old - do not look"

Yeah, I know.

I'm just suggesting to Alex. AD member cannot copy another AD member's banner or picture of herself/himself without permission.

The internet is a place where anyone can do whatever they want provided that they are protected behind their monitors. There is no regulation over what people are allowed to do or not, aside from forum moderation. Even that, isn't top notch to rely on because moderators themselves have lives to deal with, too.

If you have a graphics editing program, try adding a signature somewhere in it. You know how ebayers put up their user ID's in their pictures? Similar to that, but doesn't have to be that ugly.

For example, I have my initials GS in my signature shown below.

Just giving my opinions.

While I like your idea and I understand how you feel. But, I think it's impossible to block people from stealing images. :dunno:

You can do a trademark image on your picture. It is quite easy to do it.

You could use PS3 to add a copyright logo & the year as well. I did one to show as an example. Aghori (my husband) helped me with this.

PS3?

What does that means?! :hmm:

I don't really care if people steal a picture from the internet and save in a file in the computer, but I can always report when they edit it and put in the internet without any credit.

You can always report. I've seen someone stole other's avatar and got banned.

When you post a picture, You are at your own risk.

You have a choice; Either You can post it or DO not post it at all.

Other members in this thread has suggested some excellent ideas such as putting a logo or a copyright on your photograph in order to know that your photo is authentic.

Also, When posting a picture; You can also make a request to ask that it is not to be copied. :)

I think that by saying "Do not copy my image." is selfish. It's the internet. Everyone can get their hands on everything.

If you have a picture on your computer that you don't want anyone to have, then don't post it on the internet.

Sure, you could put a copyright on a picture... but those copyrights can be easily removed.
