Knowing which of a 100 different genes,discovered so far in "deafness", that one has doesn't appear to matter in terms in how one deals with actual Hearing Loss/deafness. I know it is genetic that my father, his brothers had hearing problems as well. I also know I have "passed on" the "genes" to my oldest son already but not my youngest son. I have no interest in taking a genetic test as I don't see what "value" it would be to me. Declined to have the test 3 years.
