Processed meat causes cancer, says WHO

Is everybody going to give up or reduce the amount of bacon, hot dogs, balony, and red meats too?

This really isn't anything new as they get out this info every few years, we've heard it all before, ho hum!
I'm going to keep eating bacon, ham, hot dogs and steak, maybe all in one meal if I feel like it.

I haven't eaten red meat or, pork in over 42 years now . I can't believe it been this long.

Still digesting my latest hot dog. :)

I used to eat hot dogs every day for lunch. And the last few years I've had them for dinner many times, though now I eat turkey or chicken dogs. Almost 60 and so far the only cancer I've had was a small basal cell on my nose about 25 years ago.

Give me an idea of the types of things you would have for dinner for instance.

I have chicken , then some more chicken . Ground turkey meat loaf ,
paste , homemade chicken soup . I like shrimp but it's hard to find good shrimp at grocery stores , it's farm raise or been frozen forever . I made
quiche and use to made spinach pies . I use to cook a lot fancier meals but it too much for one person but Marty would disagree with this .
I was a vegetarian for years so l still have vegetarian meals .

Just reduce, not give up.

If you don't eat everyday so you will be fine.

If you eat processed meats that combine with smoking = big risk.

Everything causes cancer if no one figured that out yet?

Yes and no, they can be prevented.

Red meats and processed meats cause colon cancer - it has been for years now.

I don't eat red meats and processed meats often - 80% of meats that I ate are chicken and seafood.

I hate fast food places , the only I go it pizza places . Yeah it would a lot
today to get the 4 or 5 courses meal we had when dad took us to eat.
I don't think we would had gone to eat as much if cost food what is does today .

Sooo not convinced, too many factors come into play and everyone reacts to food differently. Heck, I'm still seeing if I have any "mercury poisoning effects" from consuming shellfish. :P

It was all over TV news around here that the colon cancer risk is generally 5% the meat in this study raises it to 6%.

My question is: What in the process is causing cancer?

Is it something they feed the livestock? Is it in the production process? Are organic meats also carcinogenic?

This show what cause cancer. I had client that lived next to a high power line and son and dog died from cancer and so did a neighbor right across the street. I also had friend that had shocked treatments and she said they were very painful , she dies of a brain tumor at the age of 40 yo . I can't help but feel the shock treatments killed my friend right before her first grandchild was born.
