Last night my hearing aids were working fine, and I put them in the drying tub when I went to sleep. This morning, my right one won't work. I've tried removing the battery and putting several fresh ones in but it hasn't worked so far. My left one's working fine, but it gives me a horrible headache having hearing in one ear with an HA and not the other. The little red light comes on it just fine when I put a battery in, but there's no sound. I see nothing visible clogging the mold, and despite my efforts, can't loosen the blasted mold to clean it. Anyone ever have any similar problems?

I'd try calling vocational rehab in the morning, but my audiologist isn't very great about calling me back. Last time he took a month just to return a phone call.

I would say it will be something in the canal part of the mold stopping sound.

Are you able to un hook/ un screw the ear hook from the hearing aid. I think Oticon are a snap and click ear hook so you should be able to un click it. If sound comes out when you un click the ear hook, then its a blockage in the ear mold somewhere :)

I should say....if feedback occurs when you un snap your ear hook then it will be a blockage in the tubing/ear mold. If no feedback occurs then it will be the hearing aid :)

You can also work out problems with feedback like this as well. Sometimes feedback isn't from ill fitting ear molds.

I've always been told to first
1) Take out the ear mold and put your finger over the end. If you can not hear feedback then its your ear mold.
2) If you can still hear feedback, then take the tubing off the ear hook and place finger over ear hook. No feedback, its your tubing!
3) If you can still hear feedback, take off the ear hook and place finger over the hole on the HA, no feedback, then the problem is the ear hook. Still feedback then its internal feedback and HA needs to be sent for repair.

Most will know this but might be useful info for the OP as I believe she/he is new to hearing aids :)

everyone says it all!!!! had an issue like that before, turned out my tube and earmolds needs cleaning up :)
