Hillary Clinton, Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice used private email.

Do you think government employees must use government email instead of private email? What is pros and cons about private and government email?

Is government email mandatory if anyone work for government?

Yes, it is mandatory, and they even have to use a secured government wireless provider.

Ok, I'm just curious about ethical to use government email for all government related jobs.

I can't believe anyone used classified information in private email and in case, if private email is hacked and classified information start leak out so we are in trouble.

it's pretty simple - government employees must use government email for any work-related stuff.

they're free to use their personal email for their personal stuff.

they're most likely not very techie type so it must be a huge hassle for them to switch back and forth.

Oh wow, it isn't hard for me to have separate email account.

I'm surprised that some government employees, including Hillary Clinton isn't penalized (or facing consequence) for using private email for government related job.

I use my work email to communicate with my staff, and co-workers and work related professionals like Dr, Lawyers, Families, etc. I rather to use private email for personal use, because I always keep everything from work and from home separately, and to stay on the boundary line.

Exactly, I had separate email for school and personal, but some school email have terrible system, such as MS email server.

the security protocol is probably pain in the ass to simply log into government email. I seriously doubt that all they had to do is type in username and password.

Government employees, even their personal emails are monitored if they work with classified stuff and have to have security clearances ( got some friends who work in DOD )

Also is there another reason for government email to preserve all the information for presidential library and for checking into what they are doing and etc?

I feel that if they aren't wanting to use government email but to use personal email for government work, they are trying to hide something.
