Clinton: Hillary Would Be Great President

Mon Feb 28, 8:23 AM ET U.S. National - AP

TOKYO - Former President Clinton (news - web sites) said Sunday that his wife, Hillary, would be an excellent choice as the first female leader of the world's most powerful nation.

In an interview with Japan's TV Asahi, Clinton said he did not know whether his wife, the senator of New York state, has any plans to one day run for the presidency.

"I don't know if she'll run or not," he told the network, but added, "She would make an excellent president, and I would always try to help her."

Hillary Rodham Clinton (news - web sites) has said she plans to run for re-election as New York senator in 2006. Speculation has periodically surfaced, however, that the 57-year-old former first lady may have her sights set for the presidency in 2008.

Results from a U.S. poll released last week showed that six in 10 American voters believe the United States is ready for a female president.

Fifty-three percent thought Hillary Clinton (news - web sites) should try for the job, according to the survey by the Siena College Research Institute and sponsored by Hearst Newspapers.

"If she did run and she was able to win, she'd make a very, very good president," Clinton said Sunday. "I think now she's at least as good as I was."

Clinton was in Japan on a three-day visit to attend an international forum organized by the Asahi newspaper and to promote a Japanese-language edition of his best-selling memoir "My Life."

Ms. P., shame on you! You suggested a man for V-P! It should be an all-woman ticket! You're the one harping about men controlling women. Looks like you don't follow your own drum beats. ;)

John Edwards is the cutest man... I want him to be VP.

Here we go again.... :ugh2:

Even if there was the so called "help" available, certain individuals would have to get off their heiny and leave their place behind the computer. You will then have to walk through that front door into the real world and look for a JOB! :bump:

Newt Gingrich would be a great president..And Terrorist will learn the hard way from newt gingrich.

Well I feel Hillary can do the job...

And Bill Clinton had Monica Lewisky working by his side...
so
I think Hillary should have John Edwards working by her side, too.

Just what our country needs, another Clinton affair in the White House.

Damn, Steve - this is the second time today I agree with you. :thumb:

I disagree. I would like to think Hillary wouldn't stoop as low as to boink another woman's husband, especially if that woman went through breast cancer. Hillary Clinton has more standards than her husband ever did or ever will. :thumb:

I must admit when I saw the statement that Miss*P made, I also thought it was one of the most idiotic statements I've seen in a long time. However, the woman has many flaws and for her to stick up with a husband like Bill, I wanted to throw up. It is none of our business on what kind of marriage Hillary and Bill has, but to run our country again - Yikes! I sure hope someone better will come along by the next Presidental election.

The only logical explanation I can offer per Hillary staying with Bill is he's pretty darned good in the sack. :whip:
How would she know?

I have to agree with you, Mayflower. I wouldn't mind having woman President, but I don't want that woman to be Hillary Clinton. One swim in the muck was enough for me, thanks.

If you're gonna put a woman in the White House, put Christie Todd Whitman in.

Miss p when queen elizibeth passes on someday why dont you run for queen of england and you can become the first black woman to wear a royal crown.

she cannot.. because she isn't a family member of queen elizebeth.. its a family tradiation.. her younger son/daughter or grandkids.. will get the crown

If you read "The Biggest Secret" by David Icke, you'll see his theory about how the next Democratic president will be Hillary Clinton!
