As big cities go Portland is a not so big city. The airport is on my flight path so I am there at least once a year. It is a nice airport. Besides all things Portland anyone might wish to talk about, I am writing because....
It has come to my attention that everyday in Portland right now homes come on the market in the 100K range. The ones that are less are tiny lots or beaters with troubles. They are all older homes. Property taxes on homes in this range are under 2K. These places are all around in Portland not in the best areas of course but even the less than best around there are not bad.
I am not a realtor or anything I started tracking what is going on there earlier this year because I like the city. It has 1st Class medical care. It has great education opportunities. It is for right now in this moment in time affordable.
Oregon has some tax things that people looking at working and owning there should look at. Even with that it is a beautiful state and has everything but heat that turns you into a molten puddle.
