A professor at Georgia’s Darton State College had a student escorted out of class after noticing that the student had a gun in the classroom.
There is just one problem.
The student is a police officer, taking some classes in their free time.
The officer was even wearing a uniform at the time.
The school has issued a statement of apology:
“Darton State College is appreciative for the service of our law enforcement, and welcome them as students on our campus.
We have apologized to the officer for our misunderstanding when he attended class on our campus, and we regret this happened.
We have met with the faculty and staff involved to reiterate the Georgia Law and Darton Policy.”
The school suffered an armed robbery on campus during the summer.
