Police: Conn. Mom Left Kids In Car While Tanning - CBS News

ENFIELD, Conn. (AP) - Police in Connecticut say a 28-year-old mother is charged with leaving her two young children in her car in freezing temperatures while she went tanning in a salon. Candy Ann Rock of Enfield was charged Monday with reckless endangerment and risk of injury to children.

Enfield Police Chief Carl Sferrazza told the Journal Inquirer that Rock left her two children - ages 3 and just under 1 year - in the parked car, which was not running, for 18 minutes during her tanning session at about 9 a.m. Monday. He sid weather reports showed the wind chill was 19 degrees at the time.

Rock posted $5,000 bail and is due in Enfield Superior Court on Feb. 9. She declined to comment when reached by telephone Thursday.

The children were not injured.

 How incredibly stupid of the mother to do this. Her young children could have died or been kidnapped.

Another dumb person who shouldnt be a parent.

You always read these stories several times a year , so I guess we have a practically unlimited supply of idiot parents.

I swear those people are doing their children a travesty. It will happen again not now but later on down the road.

It just makes me so upset for the poor children. If I could, I would throw these parents in a cell and throw the key way.

indeed, too many idiots out there that put themselves ahead of their children's welfare!

All just for a tan.. tsk.

Vanity definitely is one of the deadliest sins... her children suffers for her vanity.

Well, her punishment might be getting skin cancer later on down the road because tanning is quite risky.

I hope she learns a lesson not to leave her kids unattended. If she doesn't then lose the custody of those kids!
