I understand that ASL students are often required to interview someone who is deaf for class project. I would very much hope that those ASL students take time to network within Deaf Community. They would eventually get the opportunity to interview a deaf person who is currently in workforce, retired person who used to be in workforce, or/and someone who is starting their own business. Do people go to car dealer and tell them to just pick something that is turbocharged for them and they would buy it?
Last month, I got to talk to a senior deaf person who used to work in factory putting hatchbacks on Mercury Capri models back in 1976!!! I didn't realize that Mercury Capri were made that far back!!! I learned something new talking to this person. If I can, so can you.
Let us know if any of you ASL students learned something interesting interviewing with deaf person. You know something really interesting...
