Why do people post vehicles for sale with headline that may read "Give me $600 today or it gets scrapped tomorrow"?

If people would be patient, someone would come forward and buy it to add turbocharger. Just think about it….would you prefer that your vehicle be scrapped or that someone buys it to add a turbocharger?

We would have to ask the cats if they wanted to clap. After all, they're kings and won't take anyone's orders.

I just think its a different way of doing business; looks like a marketing ploy that reflects the personality of the businessman....

More like a last chance begging, either buy or I take it to the scrappers and get less than I want....

Doesnt work anymore
I see ads all the time 1960 chevelle, $1000 cash to day or it goes to the scrap yards tomorrow... sadly the scrap yard will only give them $300 for a whole complete car or $150 for one stripped down... so the boo hoo poor me or else ploy doesnt work. Take it to the scrap yard and quit wasting time....hmmm?

why else would you accept $300 max at a scrap yard if you want $1000?

Just watch Pawn stars, one guy trying to sell 1956 Chevy pick up truck, it is classic truck, the seller wants $10,000. Too many parts needs replacement, engine is in questionable condition, plenty of surface rust, and it will cost thousands of dollars to restore them. So Rick decide ask his mechanic buddy what it is really worth... Know what the answer was?

Absolute ZERO! Its worth only scrap value so scrap it.

So, what that guy trying to do is sell junk to see if can get money, often at time frame due to situation that seller may have to deal, like city telling him can't park that on driveway due to no registration, no inspection if not, will get towed blah blah so seller may have no choice. Happened to me already! Zoning can be suck at times. No more free government nowadays.
