Planning Tips and Ideas for Wedding

My big day will be July 28, 2006. :dance2: But I only have 6 months to plan! :eek:

I have been overwhelmed with planning this wedding. It is my second one so I am not opting for traditional wedding but rather an intimate and outdoor wedding at a rented house with a beautiful yard.

Do you have any unique ideas that would make this wedding stand out? Since it is outdoor and will be held on a hot Friday evening in late July, I think that tuxedos would be too hot. Do you have any ideas what the groom and his men could wear?

What was the most wonderful or beautiful wedding you have gone to? Why was it so special? Is it food, music, cake, entertainment or ceremony vows that sticks out in your mind when looking back at weddings you have gone to?

Maybe the groom and groomsmen could wear a white button up shirt with black slacks. Since the wedding is your second one, there's no need to use a Tux and yes you're right, it'll be too hot for a tux and we don't want your groom to be passing out. Also maybe you could make the reception pot luck, which means have your guests bring something to eat. this will also save money.
 
since july is hot so why not hawaii wedding?? ppl can wear light and cool off from hot... i just help! lolz!
 
Why not for the guys to wear white linen shirts ( can be long or short sleeves) and Kaika linen pants? Guys not necessary to tuck in their shirts, can leave down just like that... My husband worn that outfit and he looked so handsome! Our wedding was on the beach and went for barefeet too. It was such a breathtaking!

And oh, good luck with your wedding arrangements!
 
yea, since it's hot summer and outdoor wear white less hot than black one

also there will be the show about wedding on ABC this Mon 9/8c

Why not have the groom and his groommen's wear hawaii shirts with white shorts?

And make the wedding look like you both are really in Hawaii....

Why not wear something like green/white/tan?
 
Can use light colored clothes, not dark because people will get too hot when wearing dark clothes.
 
Since July is good month to buy fresh fruit, how about watermelon as basket, fill it up with different tropical fruits, like pineapple, grapes, canteloupe, muskmelon, strawberries, peaches, watermelon balls, etc? Hire a caterer who would make sculpture of vegetables and fruit like they do on cruise buffets?

If you're going for hawaii theme for wedding, how about getting grass hut as part of decorations? Get potted fern, tropical trees, hisbicus flowers, orchids, etc? If you have swimming pool, put floating saucer, flower then candle in small glass and let them float all over swimming pool...or maybe rent water foundation in middle of swimming pool with colorful lights underneath to shine on foundation. Have everyone wear a lei flower around their necks, ask everyone to wear hawaii shirts, etc? Serve pinacoladas, strawberry daquiris, fuzzy peach, etc. Lots of ideas can be thrown in if its hawaiian theme wedding.
 
My husband and I was discussing about our wedding plan.. the original plan was to have my hubby to wear a white cool rayon shirt.. (hawaiian style) no other color printed with cool khakis short or men's capris/pants with a pair of sandals. I was gonna wear a summer wedding dress and sandals with my hair down with curls. But unfortunately, we are living in a cold weather and was in in spring time. It was dang cold!

And most of people will come for food! And the view/decoration, they would be in awe for seeing that. But they should come and congratulate you and your fiance! :)

Question:

Do you have a house and garden?

If yes, what about "romantic garden wedding" if you want small & quiet wedding to celebrate with close friends & relatives. Hire big white tent at garden with flowers decoration on it. What about that?

Romantic white cotton dress which it help to cool at hot weather.

Welcome guests with champagne or white wine with bowl of fresh strawberries... It taste super when you drink champagne or white wine with eating stawberries.

Cold buffett - kinds of cheese with grapes, kinds of sliced sausages with decoration... kind of cold meats, salads, then later cakes...

I only suggest you what I witness at our friend's 50th birthday at 2 years ago. Very beautiful decoration on big open tent...

I didnt realize we have a great mind alike. Hawaiian shirts! Hehe. Gemtun, I am sure you could find the shirts thru hawaiian website.
