Anybody have Phonak's Campus S FM transmitter? I'm thinking I might want to get one of these if I'm to take more classes at the college. I currently have the Handy T-mic from Phonak, but I don't think it works that well in a classroom, and feel the Campus S would work better.

Just want to get input from those who have used the Campus S.

(I didn't know where else to post this.)

That's the product. :) Just want to know what people think of it, if they like it or not, etc.

I looked at the one too. Just not sure if it'd be best for classroom use..

Not really a fan of FM devices. I'm not against them, but I really don't understand WHY they are so universally reccomended. Like they are good for soft spoken people, but in general if a professor has a loud voice and enunicates well, you don't generally need one.

don't forget the noise in classroom and the effect of acoustic sounds in the classroom.. hmm? and FM devices does help hearing kids as well as those deaf kids equipped with HA w/FM boot hmm

What noise? FM advocates make it sound like the typical classroom is as noisy as a construction site......
HOW does a personal FM device help hearing kids? Yes, the soundfield has been shown to help hearing kids, but you haven't given a reason why a personal FM device would help hearies.

Even a college class is noisy for me. I can hear the pages in a book being turned, and if someone has a small bag of chips, I can hear the bag crinkling, and I can hear the zippers on a backpage, etc. With the FM, I don't hear all the background noise, I only hear the teacher. And that's what I want to hear, the teacher. It doesn't matter if they have a loud and clear voice without the FM, the background noise always gets to me, and it's the background noise that is very distracting to me. My hearing aid picks up on the smallest sound.

The background noise may be quiet, but I can still hear it. With the FM, I don't hear the background noise. Which is why I want to get a new FM transmitter.

Oh, I wasn't ragging on you cdmeggers......I know everyone has their preferences, and we're all different. Yeah, if you're easily distracted an FM device is good.....didja know that some ADD/HD kids use them in class?

I have tried using Smartlink SX and Handy mic but they are very noise
and signal is weak.I like Campus. It is not noisy and signal very strong

I agree on the Microlink signal being weak. I've tried to use it in 9th grade and I did not like it for a classroom setting. I only use the mircolink to listen to music.

Now, if I could just get the price info from my audie, so I can give the info to Vocational Rehab and see if VR will pay for the Campus S.
