Hello deafies,

I hope this forum will help me to understand based on how to use Phonak Smartlink SX FM system.

Here is a problem I'm struggling with:

I just connected my Dell mp3 player to Smartlink and followed thorough instruction from the manual I found from official Phonak website and it didn't function very well. The LCD on a remote showed as 55, with an omni icon instead of showing as "A," which means audio. I've tried with the buttons to play with and it was not successful. I just got it about a year ago and it was working just fine until a few days ago, it turned back to square one.

I strongly believe that Phonak Smartlink user manual has very disorganized instruction. I was looking for a better manual through Google and nothing was found on search engine.

Is there any better suggestion to get it functioning??? I really need it to be working well asap.

I would appreciate to hear from your feedback and assistance.

Thank you. :ty:

do u have it plugged into the audio jack? is it charged properly? I found that the audio wasn't as clear as the actual fm signal to the ha...not sure why. I don't use this feature with my smartlink..only use it for the classroom ..why dont u ask ur audi? or email phonak?

I also have problems connecting some devices to my Smartlink. I have a digital voice recorder which I use at uni because I'm allowed to record lectures. This doesn't seem to work with the Smartlink. However, my IPod is OK, along with my computer, which is how I listen to the lectures, I download them on to my PC and then listen to them through the Smartlink. I don't know whether the problem is with the Smartlink or the voice recorder.

Another problem I have with Smartlink is with mobile phones, the Smartlink turns itself off if no one is speaking on the other end of the phone, like if they put you on hold. I then can't tell when they've come back, which has been embarrassing on occasions. I have a device which connects my Smartlink to a land line phone and the same thing happens then too.

Wow, what a wealth of information here, thanks to all. I'm a new user of this forum (today) and reading everything. I have a set of Naida IX arriving in about 5 weeks. I am very excited about using the Bluetooth connection to my cell phone. I see the Smartlink information above and it looks great but I also read about the iCom, as both seem to have the Bluetooth connectivity solution, but I'm confused as to what is best and what the purchase price is on each. Any suggestions as to the “best” solution? Thanks in advance.
