Been told that Phonak are due to release a new RIC aid this year.

I was hoping that they would re deign the naida and make it more water resistant as the hosing hasn't changed since the first Naidas came out in 2007/2008 but the only thing they are doing for the Naidas is new tamper proof battery draws and controls.

I will highly likely not upgrade until an UP aid comes out with the ip67 rating as that would match my lifestyle greatly. :D

EDIT: The RIC would be in the Quest range.

Don't think we have Quest in the States.

Is the new RIC for profound loss?

Quest Platform is the newer platform over the older core and spice platforms.

I don't think the RIC will be for profound loss but not 100% sure.

I believe eventually they will upgrade the Naidas to quest but that is properly a few years away as they will change the housing to make it more water resistant at the same time. As they are bringing out new tamper proof draws and switches for current Naida housing, we think it won't be soon. They wouldn't do the new battery draws etc now to then have new Naidas come out with quest platform and new housing in the same year.

i got my new HA .. does that mean i have to buy another HA that has better water proof.. dang

If you have the Naida now, then it won't be for a few years from my understanding. I won't upgrade until the ip rating is better

You don't have to upgrade until you want to or can afford it etc. There will be eventually a better water resistant Naida.

Ive just re watched the video and I dont think the new tamperproof draws are that good.

You loose the volume control from the looks of it (for children that maynot be an issue) but for some adults who play a lot of sport like myself who want to make sure there draws dont open, it wouldnt really work.

How would the FM work as well, universal or intragated?

Can this be put on to the Core and Spice Naidas?
