Hi

My friend IGC (sometimes on this forum) uses the Naida UP but has just been approved for a CI. The centre has recommended the Nucleus but I've read that the Harmony implant will be getting the Phonak processor etc sometime next year (I think). My mum is also thinking about getting one. Do you think they should wait? Any help is appreciated - I'm new to this but trying to help with research.

Thanks! :hmm:

It seems like AB will be incorporating some Phonak technologies to their upcoming processors. Phonak and AB are both under Sonova, and they both do work together on improving the technology. I know AB is taking advantage of Phonak's smaller device technology, and they have a smaller BTE processor in the works to be available by sometime next year. If they want to wait until the new processor is out, that's up to them.

Maybe, there's a link on here somewhere for the new implant they have coming out. There wasn't a lot of information in, but I'm pretty sure I read that if you wear a hearing aid in the other ear the CI will be able to work with it. I'd imagine that it would have to be a phonak hearing aid for that to work, since it's phonak technology.
