Dear Parents,

My name is Alex McGowen, and I am a graduate student in the Early Childhood Education/Early Childhood Special Education program at Mills College. I am currently working on my Master's Thesis Project, which is researching the perspectives and experiences of parents of children who are deaf/hard of hearing and who will be enrolled, are presently enrolled, or have been enrolled in deaf/hard of hearing early intervention and/ or preschool programs in public school districts.

This letter is to ask you if you would be willing to complete a survey and/ or be interviewed for the purposes of my study. Participation is entirely voluntary, and all participant information (including data that is collected) will remain anonymous and confidential. The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete, and is available online on SurveyMonkey at:

https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/publicschoolearlychildhooddeafed

The interview is approximately forty-five minutes to an hour and can be conducted wherever you feel most comfortable. Incentives will be provided for participants who consent to participate in the research. Survey participants may choose to be entered in a drawing for a $25 gift card to Target. Interview participants will be reimbursed for their time with a $50 gift card to their choice of Amazon.com, Target, or Trader Joe's.

Should you like to participate in my study or have any further questions, I can be reached at amcgowen@mills.edu. Thank you for taking the time to read through my letter and consider my proposal.

Sincerely,
Alex McGowen

Ooooo.....how about sticky this, and post to General forum so people can see?

Specifically public school programs in the US or public school early intervention programs anywhere in the world? Remember this is an international forum, you don't want to end up with results that ruin your research because they are from a totally different kind of program than you are researching.

Would indicate you probably only mean US based programs, as a gift card to Target is not a whole heap of use to me, but if you are including international participants and can interview using something like MSN then I'm in.
