As part of our outreach effort to parents in the Tampa Bay community, we offer 2-hour information sessions on the USF campus about twice a year. These sessions are free of charge and open to the public but are specifically geared towards parents of children who are deaf or have other difficulties with phonemic awareness.

Sessions provide participants with the opportunity to:

- learn about Cued Speech as a communication option and the various ways that it can be used to support language and literacy goals and/or auditory training and speech goals.

- review research that describes the advantages of Cued Speech as an effective tool for communication, and as a tool for facilitating development of language and literacy skills.

- meet cueing families (parents and children) and hear their perspectives on Cued Speech.

-network with other parents who are exploring communication options for their children.

Dates for the next information session are not yet available. Contact us to let us know you are interested, and we will notify you when the event is scheduled.
