SO sorry if i didn't put this in the right forum, but hey, anyone can be an artist right? lol

Anyway, i'm doing a project on my career and I was telling that I would work as a comic book artist...and that i proably could work for Marvel company in NY and all that...but anyway, the only thing is that i'm not so sure is that HOW much do you get paid for doing your sketches, coloring, lettering, editing, etc in order to make a comic book? I heard that you get paid pretty well...enough to get you filthy rich in a few years lol but do any of you know know EXACTLY how much you get paid? thanks.

It belong to On-Topic Debates.

By the way, do you have the portfolio in artwork? Then I will tell you.

yeah i do...i have some on my sketch books, notebooks, posters, etc...

Then post all your ARTWORK at the artwork thread!!! *yell*

well i'll have to ask my step father if i can use his scanner anyway

It usually depends on the company and the kind of art you do. If it's a big popular company that does comics for something like Superman or X-Men, then you better have very good art skills. If it's for an independent company, then your "good" skills are necessary and you can get by with less money than the popular companies do.

If it's a major kind of comic magizine that you have produced..it's more likely you would get a royal right on it.

If it's more for like newspapers...it's more of a salary from a major newspaper.

yeah hm I think people who become comic book artist probably strike it rich  blah

Why On-Topic Debates? There's nothing to debate on, just a question for some answers.

Anyway, what kind of art do you do?

oh i just do sketches, mostly...and i'm better at sketching than painting...it just seems easier and my pencil is the best weapon yet! :D lol

that's awesome  why not u show off ur artwork here? ;) as long I know u can shut illustrator up
