A lot of my friends seem to be concerned about the government interfering and watching over our daily lives, but what was surprising to me was to find out (through a new documentary) that major news organizations are also playing a part, though much less publicized
(because ironically they run the media!)

Case in point: Al Franken. Here’s a gentleman who was looking to have his book published called “Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them”. The book basically exposes many unknown truths about the lies and dark sides of major news organizations. Once Fox News heard about this book, they went to court and tried (unsuccessfully) to stop its publication.
To me, that’s pretty scary. I feel that Americans have the right to know what’s going on. If the government doesn’t tell us the whole truth, and now we’re learning that the people that run the news that we watch each night are doing the same to us, what can we do?

The film is called “The First Amendment Project”, and I first saw it about a month ago at the Hamptons Film Festival. I know it won’t get as much publicity as Michael Moore’s recent documentary, but in my opinion, this movie is even more important because it exposes the
people that are bring us the news in the first place. I’m sure you can google the name of the movie for more info, or if you want to catch it on Court TV next Tuesday night at 10pm. I’m going to tape it for a couple friends since no major networks would air it, and not everyone
has cable.

Welcome to Fascism. What do I mean about that? Allow me quote this:

Controlled Mass Media
Sometimes to media is directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media is indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common.

What you explained about... that is the beginning of the age of Fascism in America. About half of americans know that they are in age of Fascism while slightly less than 50% of americans still think that they are in the glory of so-called Democracy. Sad eh?

I recommend this good book, Into the Buzzsaw: Leading Journalists Expose the Myth of a Free Press. It exposed dirty things about media who 'controlled' by governments, corporations and certain party. Fox news are not to be trusted, everyone but certain party know that they are scumbags. Anyway, I never watch any TV news, I know that they are not to be trusted... I trust well-known newspapers more than I do for TV news. Well-known newspapers: New York Times, Guardian (Europe newspaper), American Free Press, Washington Post, and few. They are highly trusted news agendas in the global. That's why my TV is collecting the dust ever since darkest day (Nov 2nd 2004).

You will have to prepare for other certain party to attack you or me over this hard-as-steel facts.

As for book that you talked about, 'Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them', I definitely am going to buy that book since Foxnews are panicked about it... it is obviously enough that they are scared of its truths. Thank you for naming the book and I am greatly interested in that documentary, The First Amendment Project as well.

You know Michael Moore doesn't tell the whole truth, he does bends the truth, When he first made a movie "Fahrenheit 9/11".

And about the book, "Lies And the Lying Liars Who Tell Them:A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right" How do I know he is telling the truth?

Well, in many ways, they are telling the truths more than certain party does. The certain party's lies made our lies sound more 'truth'. That's how bad it is. I can see your point and I know that 'truth' itself depends on perspection.

My mom's relative told me yesterday that she is starting to feel like she is going to relive the McCarthyism era right now.

Edit: Everyone, don't assume that I am talking about republicans and democrats.

You are spiritual individual with your own rights, freedoms, and liberties to be your own self and do your own thinking.

Plato once said that, ' The price good people pay for non-involvement in public affairs is to be ruled by evil men' The goverment has a very powerful ememy that it is frightened fo death of. Look them closer and study if u understand yourself.

I guess the bottom line is that there is a growing trend of 'censorship' or 'red-tape'....not much to say, although, citizens need the encouragements and the will to stand up for their rights, freedom, etc.,...it's all I'll say for the time being without going off topic here--

"Freedom" is just a word to trick on every other countires.

We do have some freedom, for example; free to speak, bears to arm, and choices.

Some of our freedoms were abused by government and none of us took action. Very sad with that statement.
