I'm not exactly sure what's going on with my Oticon BTE hearing aid. I have two but its only the left one with the issue. I had bought Kirkland Signature hearing aids and have noticed a bit of brown like substance appearing on the battery and in the battery compartment. Is this battery acid leaking out from the battery or is it something else?

This issue has not happened with Duracell batteries

Well then use Duracell.. What kind of batteries are leaking?

I would take them into Costco and show them. I think they must have gotten a bad battery lot.

Will do. Going to my audiologist tomorrow to get a confirmation if its battery acid leakage or not. That way when I do go to Costco, I have absolute "proof"

Could also be dirt/oil inside the hearing aid. I know with my left one the thing gets CLOGGED with gunk.. (ew). Could very well be rust or close to that too with moisture (even in winter- you just don't notice it- sweat etc) affecting the hearing aid.

You will go to the audiologist for the proof (good idea). I probably used Oticon BTE analog 380/390 for @35 of the 40 years of using them (675 batteries). I used Radioshack most of that time (cheapest) and until the CI switched our local and cheap supermarket brand. No problems occurred like this in all those years.

could be a bad battery but I would go Powerone (powerone is another brand of batteries I have also used in the past with no issues)
